OPENING MUSIC FESTIVAL REFERENCE Stichting Hoorn Oude Muziek Nu Opening Festival Oude Muziek 2000 June The city of Hoorn, an old harbour, with a long history of shipbuilding. organised in the year 2000 many events to commemorate the 400 years friendship between Japan and the Netherlands, that started, paradoxically, with a shipwreck of Dutch ship De Liefde  on the shore of Japan. The Dutch Shinto master made a shinto ceremony at the opening of a music festival in the historical Oosterkerk, which was preceded by a short introduction to explain the ceremony.
